Community leaders and civil society organizations conduct regular workshops with the participants of Podcasts for Peace on a variety of social justice issues and life skills. Topics include sexually transmitted diseases, drug addiction, domestic violence, human and civil rights, and community organizing. These workshops help youth develop a critical consciousness and formulate ideas for their podcasts.
Movie Nights
To help build the Podcasts for Peace community, we hold weekly movie nights, showing age-appropriate films that teach positive values. For example, Shrek (self-acceptance), How to Train Your Dragon (stereotype deconstruction), and Spirit Bear (youth activism and environmentalism).
